On Friday 3rd December we had special guests visit Guru Nanak Sikh Multi Academy Trust.
This month we celebrated the 552nd Parkash Purab (birth celebrations) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in the year 1469 at Nankana Sahib, Punjab Province of Pakistan.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the first Sikh Guru and founder of the Sikh Dharam. Guru Ji based his philosophies on three principles: 'vand ke shakna' (sharing and caring), 'kirat karna' (working hard) and 'naam japna' (meditating on God). As well as this, Guru Nanak Dev Ji spread the message of 'Ik Oankar’, meaning there is but One God and the oneness within humanity.
During this auspicious celebration week, the 'three principles' and the 'Oneness' theme was relayed throughout the MAT; Students were able to learn from the richness of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's life and legacy.
Our guest Keertaniya; Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji (Amritsar), Bhai Kuljeet Singh Ji, and Bhai Dilraj Singh Ji made the week even more special by gracing us with blissful Kirtan and knowledge.
We would like to thank all staff and students across the MAT for their immense support during this week.
This year we will once again be raising money for ‘Children in Need’ across the Multi Academy
Trust (MAT).
